City of Renton

He peers at you from the rooftops. His wings cast street-covering shadows. He guards downtown Renton. He's Erasmus the Dragon.

Erasmus, a rooftop sculpture perching atop a Wells Avenue South building for the last four years, is for the first time ever acting as something of an Easter mascot in Renton this year. Four of his "dragon eggs" have been hidden in secret locations across the Eastside city and will be the subject of an April 1 scavenger hunt whose clues will be sent via email to registered participants' email addresses.

Clues will be provided one at a time after each egg is discovered. The scavenger hunt won't end until all four of the eggs have been found. Winners will receive prizes April 15.

The Renton Municipal Arts Commission, which is presenting the event, is looking at the hunt as a commemoration of Erasmus’s fourth year watching over Renton. Register to participate here
