Little ones get to dress up, enter the realm of make-believe, and have their dreams come true through the themed sets at Ruth and Kate Portraits.
The mother-daughter duo behind the Renton-based photography business, Ruth Densley and Kate Johnson, look to capture special moments by harnessing the imaginations of their young subjects.
Detail is paramount at the studio, which comes complete with a wide range of ballgowns, a chandeliered dressing room, a massive throne, coronation papers to “sign,” and more.
“We have gowns from all over the world. Some have even been worn in New York Fashion Week or on the red carpet,” Densley said. “Many kids may never have a chance to try on something like that. When they come in and see some of the gowns that they get to wear, and their eyes light up, it’s pretty amazing.”
If your child has outgrown the dress-up stage, the studio also offers a “masterpiece session” that has a silky, simple setup.
