Street Eats

Before TikTok food trends and celebrity salad recipes brought it additional prominence, Levantine cuisine has been rocking our tastebuds with ingredients such as chickpeas, yogurt, tahini, and halloumi cheese — alongside produce including eggplant, peppers, zucchini, mint, and pomegranates — since the days of the Ottoman Empire.

A newly opened restaurant, Street Eats in South Lake Union, is now dishing up Middle Eastern favorites such as Lebanese mujadara (lentils, fried onions, and rice) and fatteh (pita bread with chickpeas and yogurt). You also can craft your meals down to the last detail with the build-your-own-bowl menu.
