The picturesque Skagit Valley is synonymous with springtime tulips. But the valley’s nutrient-rich soil isn’t just hospitable to blossoming bulbs: it also cultivates the produce, livestock, and dairy products that the region is fortunate to enjoy.
Five friends who also are Mount Vernon High alumni wanted to showcase the valley’s rich agricultural heritage. So they opened Skagit Landing, a restaurant whose menu reflects the in-season flavors from nearby farms.
It’s in a unique location right at the Skagit Regional Airport with a dynamic view of planes coming in and taking off. Pilots can park their aircraft and walk in for a meal. The menu is engineered to suit all appetites, with even more food additions coming thanks to a new happy hour menu available daily from 3–6 p.m., featuring many neighboring breweries.
