Though traditionally an Irish celebration, St. Patrick’s Day has become a celebration of whiskey, now made around the world due to its popularity. The Tulalip Resort recently opened its new Destinations Whiskey Lounge as a showcase of all things whiskey, rye, and scotch, featuring a selection of 60-plus quality bourbon whiskeys, all of which can be savored on their own or prepared as a signature craft cocktail. For the die-hard fans, the Lounge offers a $500 pour of the coveted 25-year-old Old Rip Van Winkle bourbon (a sibling brand to the equally prized Pappy Van Winkle), but this isn’t a whiskey flex; the lounge is an inviting space for everyone who already appreciates this legendary liquid, as well as those wanting to gain a new understanding of why this spirit has put so many under its spell.
