Premier Media Group, the Pacific Northwest-based publisher of four regional lifestyle and business publications — including this one — recently acquired Northwest Travel & Life magazine, PMG president Josh Dunn announced this week.

“As Premier Media Group continues to grow and look for opportunities, we were thrilled to work with our friends at Northwest Travel & Life in acquiring their media brands,” Dunn said. “We see tremendous tailwinds in and around the travel industry. We are looking to continue to further our company’s goal of being a breath of fresh air in this new travel space.”

Northwest Travel & Life is a bimonthly magazine that includes content on Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia. Premier Media Group purchased the magazine from Explorer Media, owned by Dave Peterson. Peterson, formerly with Sunset magazine, relaunched the magazine in 2011.

The acquisition also includes Meeting News Northwest and the Travel and Words writers conference.

The staff of Northwest Travel & Life will remain intact, Dunn said. The 30,000-circulation magazine is available via subscription and in stores across the Pacific Northwest, including in Fred Meyer, Safeway, Albertsons, QFC, Walgreens, Barnes & Noble, Bartell Drugs, Target, independent bookstores, and elsewhere.

Founded in 2001, Premier Media Group is the publisher of four award-winning titles, including 425, 425 Business, South Sound, and South Sound Business magazines.
