North Bend Woman Recognized for Pandemic Relief Aid 

Disney is recognizing North Bend resident Sarai Childs for her charity work during the pandemic. Childs helped fight regional food insecurity by donating meals alongside masks, hand sanitizer, and other critical products. Childs’ work to aid around 10,000 organizations statewide will be celebrated at Walt Disney World Resort during a donation event where Disney will donate $400,000 to four nonprofits. Learn more here

Back-to-School Food Drive

Three Seattle high schoolers helped combat regional food insecurity with a food drive via Northwest Harvest’s SODO Community Market. The teens donated 779 pounds of food and $14,875 to Northwest Harvest. Learn more about the high schoolers’ commitment to fighting hunger in the state here

New Renton Multifamily Housing Project 

A 686-unit multifamily complex recently began construction in Renton. With more than 30,000 square feet of commercial space, 590 mixed-income units, and 96 townhomes, this sprawling build is set to open summer 2024. Art in the Park

Head to Lake Sammamish State Park this weekend for the Art in the Park temporary sculpture exhibit. The exhibit, open to the public until Sept. 16, will showcase sculptures from 10 artists. The City of Issaquah Arts Commission, Banner Bank, Miriam and Job Friedman, the Downtown Issaquah Association, and Regency Centers have joined forced to sponsor the art exhibit. Amazon Career Day

Mark your calendars for Sept. 15. Amazon is looking to hire more than 40,000 corporate and tech professionals to fill open jobs across the nation. Amazon’s Career Day will be its largest event for training and hiring interested applicants. The event will include career coaching, networking, and recruiting. Learn more here.
