Dragonflight GameCon is returning to the Bellevue Hilton this October. Dragonflight is one of the longest- running gaming conventions in the Pacific Northwest. The event typically attracts nearly 1,000 people to play in or run some 600 events spread over three days in August. This year, however, the gaming conference will have a limited Oct. 29–31 run due to COVID concerns.
Dragonflight is a volunteer-run 501(c)7 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the educational and social benefits of gaming in the Pacific Northwest. It first launched in 1980 as a result of an interaction between members of The Brass Dragon Society, a Seattle role-playing group, and members of Western Washington Wargamers.
Games include board games, live-action role-playing games, war games, card games, miniatures, and more. Video games do not qualify. Vendors from around the Seattle area, including game stores, game companies, artists, online magazines, and other resources that are related to gaming, also are present at Dragonflight.
Due to the pandemic, Dragonflight will host only completely vaccinated attendees. Proof of vaccination status must be presented to Dragonflight registration staff in order to pick up a convention badge. Fully vaccinated people are encouraged, but not required, to wear masks, according to Dragonflight’s website.
