Bloodwork Northwest Launches Music’s in Our Blood Campaign

To help generate more awareness for the critical need for blood, Bloodworks Northwest has partnered with KEXP, Sub Pop Records, Starbucks, and the local music community to recruit 10,000 new donors by the end of the year.

Now through December, Blookworks Northwest will host the Music’s In Our Blood campaign.

In recent years, blood supply has dropped while demand has skyrocketed. In an effort to restock shelves, Bloodworks Northwest and its partners are sharing the voices of musicians, artists, and DJs who have stories of impact and have been positively affected by blood donations. To secure new blood donors, the four-month blood drive will offer music festivals, concerts, community events, and more.

As part of a sweepstakes effort, Bloodworks is additionally giving away four Fly Away Music weekend getaway across the USA. Anyone who donates blood Sept 1-Oct. 31 will be entered to win a three-day weekend to see headliner artists in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, or Miami. Airfare, hotel accommodations, and event tickets for two are included in the prize. See the official rules here.

Sub Pop Records CEO Megan Jasper said in a release that music is necessary for life just like the blood that moves through the body.

“By harnessing the power of music, we harness the power of community,” she said in the release. “Donating blood is one of the easiest acts we can do to save a life in our community.

The Music’s in Our Blood campaign will launch Sept. 4 -5 during the Daydream State’s DAY IN • DAY OUT music festival at Seattle Center. The outdoor festival will include performances by Kaytranada, Chvrches, Big Wild, Aminé, Travis Thompson, and others. Visit here for more information.
